  • What is Bánóg?

    Bánóg is an online education platform celebrating the traditional and vernacular forms of irish dance. With a mix of free and paid resources including reading lists, suggesting listening, dance lessons, and more, users learn about irish dance at their own pace, from anywhere in the world.

  • What do I get when I become a member?

    Members benefit from all of the free resources on the site, in addition to unlimited access to the lesson library which includes a section on musicality, monthly 1:1 sessions with Siobhan, and discounted rates on 4 week dance series.

  • How does it work?

    Bánóg offers free resources along with a subscription based area for dance lessons.
    Dance lesson subscriptions are charged on a recurring monthly (€25) or annual (€250) basis that you can cancel at any time with no contracts.

  • What level instruction are the dance lessons?

    The dance lessons are for beginner to intermediate level dancers. The lessons are categorised by level, making it easy to navigate.

  • What types of dancing are included in the lessons?

    Most of the dance lessons are in sean-nós dance with some lessons being in traditional, old style step dancing. The lessons are designed to expand repertoire, improve technique, and encourage creative musical interpretation.

  • Do I need to know how to dance already?

    Not at all! Included in the lesson library is an “introduction to sean-nós dance” course that will give you the foundations you need to get started on your dancing journey.
    If you’re only interested in learning more about the history of dance in Ireland, you’re always welcome to use the free resources on the site.

  • How do I unsubscribe from The Club?

    Cancelling your membership to The Club is free and easy. You’ll have full access to the lessons until the end of your prepaid subscription cycle. You can unsubscribe in “my account”.
